What to pack for a summer holiday in Dubai / Abu Dhabi
I always get asked what to pack for Dubai. Given I go at least a couple of times a year, I have mastered what to pack for Dubai / Abu Dhabi which are quite similar, locations and weather wise.
Since I went again a couple of weeks back, here is what I suggest.
Swimwear
Dubai has a lot of pools and beautiful beaches, so there is a strong pool side culture. So packing a lot of swimsuits and bikinis is super useful. I personally like wearing a swimsuit over a bikini which makes it easier to throw on a pair of linen trousers and a shirt over to go outside of the resort.
Sun Dresses
I always pack a few day and evening dresses for Dubai. unless I am in the pool side or swimming in the ocean, I am out for lunch, or shopping or walking around the Marina area so I love wearing a cute sun dress for the day times.
For the evenings, I love wearing evening dresses for date nights. During the winter I often go for longer dresses as it can get a bit cooler but in the Summer, knee length dresses are perfect for evenings.
Accessories
Dubai is one of my favourite places for accessories, full of bright summer energy and I love adding cute summer accessories to style up the outfits.
I always pack up a few summer hats to keep my hair protected and lots of sunglasses to wear as you would end up wearing from the sun rise to sunset as the sun is quite strong.
I mostly wear flats in Dubai unless I am going to a restaurant in the evening and even then I prefer my orans. As for bags, I love my beach bags for Dubai, bigger the better as you can pack everything you need for a beach day. For the evenings, I love wearing a little bag, ideally a mini Kelly in a pastel colour.
